Pinch™ offers the ability to communicate with your users when in specific locations.

Pinch™ gives you the opportunity to communicate directly with your users either via the mobile phone or indirectly through digital surfaces like screens out in the public space. Alongside the unique form of communication, Pinch™ also collects data every time a mobile application detects a Pinch™ beacon. This generates data that gives you a better understanding of your customers and their behavior.

Pinch™ consists of four components giving you the optimal tool for proximity.

Why use Pinch™


Pinch provides multiple advantages by providing you the tools needed to develop solid marketing plans based on insight through collected data. Pinch enables you to further develop your business’ marketing strategy, make your marketing efforts more accurate, increase your customers’ engagement or gain insight into your customers’ experiences with your brand. With Pinch you can tailor your communication to specific target groups and increase your customers’ engagement with you brand. Through our collaboration with Clear Channel, Pinch will show your customized messages on digital advertising monitors when your selected target group is close by. Base your online marketing on the knowledge of your customers physical location behaviour with the help of Pinch and our collaborators UnaCast and AdForm.

Define your communication via our web interface and get the opportunity to post customized communication based on the recipient’s interest, location and previous location. Both digital and physical.

Get updated reports and analysis about your customer group. With Pinch you can measure the engagement, retrieve reports and analyze the results created by your communication. Export graphical material such as graphs and baseline data for further analysis in your own programs. If your business already has a system that coordinates your communication we recommend our Pinch API-points to avoid yet another program.

PinchSDK

Software Development Kit

PinchSDK is added to new or existing mobile phone applications. This is in many ways similar to cookie placements on a webpage, to track traffic for later use in targeted ad campaigns. PinchSDK contains a set of features that can detect a person with a smartphone, and the relevant application installed, when they are located near a web beacon or Bluetooth beacon. Such a beacon may be our own Pinch™ beacon. The Pinch™ beacon will then be part of the infrastructure around a Pinch™-based proximity service.

By implementing PinchSDK into an application, businesses can easily communicate directly with their customers mobile phones when they are in proximity of the beacon. In addition, the businesses have the opportunity to expose the same message to other surfaces such as advertising screens or monitors inside the store or in the near proximity of the customer. All at the exact time the customer is at the precise location.

The unique thing with a Pinch™-based solution is that the communication can be tailor-made to fit the customer’s profile and behavioural history. The message is perceived more relevant for the individual customer, rather than “everyone” being exposed to the same message. Distancing Pinch™-based solutions from traditional marketing and mass communication.

Pinch-
Infrastructure

PinchInfrastructure is the sum of all Pinch™-based beacons associated with and administered in Pinch™. In fluxLoop, we strongly believe that Pinch™ will be installed where “the people are”, be it in stores, public transport, advertising monitors, cinemas, parking lots, museums, shopping malls, ect.

There are several other proximity technologies than beacons, but beacons are superior in terms of how accurate it can specify the users position.

PinchMarketing

The third component of our proximity service is PinchMarketing. The marketing component makes it possible for you to buy marketing and communications on Clear Channel’s Live Monitors. These displays are typically located in shopping malls and close to most stores. The combination of Pinch™ and Clear Channel Live allows you to run behavioral marketing which means that you can customize your marketing to the person in proximity to the screen.

Thus hitting more accurately with your message. It is worth mentioning that there is no need to do anything on the customers mobile phone for this to happen other than having the PinchSDK application installed and Bluetooth active on the individuals smartphone. The insight and knowledge that Pinch™ collects from the customers’ offline behavior can also be used in other digital marketing contexts, through our affiliates such as Unacast and AdForm.

PinchData

The last and most important component is PinchData, which is collected via PinchSDK. The data available through the applications along with the location data were PinchInfrastructure is placed, is collected and processed. This data is initially personal data that we, with the consent of the consumer, have access to and which we can process in accordance with the agreement with the Application Provider. Normally, the data is used to communicate better with your customers, preferably in contextual and customized messages in the time and place the customer is most receptive.

A classic example is when a user of the Telenor application is in proximity of an Telenor store. Telenor can then communicate relevant offers directly to the relevant customer, based on the customers preferences and previous behaviour captured through the application.

Another important part of the data processing is that Pinch™ offers an aggregated and anonymous data set. This data set can then be used when advertisers wish to purchase behavioral marketing that appears on Clear Channel’s Live Monitors. The anonymization of this data is important, and something we are continuously working to uphold. We will always work to provide as useful and relevant data as possible, but this focus should never be at the expense of privacy. Our anonymous and aggregated data should not allow an ad buyer to identify users.

As our customer, we provide you with legal assistance in relation to texts and content that should be included in customer terms and conditions within the application.

This also applies to the texts that should be used in the direct dialogue with the customer so that the customer is adequately informed and gives their active informed consent to share their location and personal information. The texts are designed in consultation with lawyers who have a particular focus on privacy and data processing so that the end user and our customers, as well as ourselves, can be confident that the current laws are being maintained.
